The Three Valley Museum will once again host the annual “Baked Potato Blowout” fundraiser on Thursday, November 11, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M.

The midday meal will follow the Veteran’s Day Parade and will allow folks to gather together and remember the service of the veterans in our community.

Members of the Julia Jackson chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be on hand to collect items which will be distributed to those in residence at the V.A. Center in Bonham, Texas. “We are asking for personal hygiene items, socks, pajamas, shirts, slippers, etc. for the soldiers who served our country,” said Judy Polson of the local UDC.

According to Polson, “at the last potato luncheon drive, approximately twenty veterans, both men and women, received hearty packages at Christmas due to the generosity of the people from our community.”

“This is an important event for us, stated Nancy Ferris, Director of the Three Valley Museum, because it offers us an opportunity to show  veterans  in our area that they have not been forgotten. Our exhibits of military service will be open that day for observance and reflection.”

“The following community partners make this event a special one. Thank you to Main Street Barbeque for providing the potatoes,  Julia Jackson chapter for homemade desserts, and  Woodman Life for helping hands,” stated Ferris.

The delicious meal consists of a giant baked potato, with condiments of chili, cheese, sour cream, homemade dessert and a drink, all for the ticket price of $12.

Please contact a Board member or go by the museum to get your ticket today. (only 100 available, all will be pre-sold)
