Centenarians of Oklahoma was proud to honor Durant resident, Betty Wakefield, and induct her into the Centenarians of Oklahoma Hall of Fame on the occasion of her 100th birthday celebration. Betty was a production illustrator at Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City, always involved in school and community activities, a member of the Junior League, volunteered at Three Valley Museum, a Boy Scout Leader, Homeroom Mother, and hostess for foreign students in her home. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for 70 years.
Her words of wisdom for younger people are: “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom!”
