The Three Valley Museum, 401 West Main, Durant, is holding its’ fifth annual “History in the Making” Golf tournament on April 28th at the Denison Country Club in Denison.

According to Nancy Ferris, Director of the Museum, the proceeds from this fundraiser have a definitive purpose.

“We have been struggling with a failing heating and air conditioning system for some time now, said Ferris. Despite numerous repairs and creative conservation practices to save energy, the unit finally passed the point of no return.”

“The $30,000 price tag attached to such a replacement has made the need for a successful fundraising event even more imperative to the operation of our facility, said Ferris.

Donna Tyler, Board member and chairperson for the golf tournament added, “Our board has been working for weeks to gain sponsorships, tournament prizes, and golfers to participate in the tournament, which, in return, will help to insure that our museum can remain open through the upcoming hot summer months.”

“We are very fortunate to have the support and sponsorship of local businessmen and women who understand the importance of having a museum such as ours in our town. We cannot thank them enough for their help.” Tyler said.

“In recent years, the Three Valley Museum has been the heartbeat of Main Street. A place where visitors come to learn of our history and where local residents enjoy reliving events which touched the lives of those who lived here before us, said Ferris.

“We feel blessed by those who love and appreciate the museum, visit, become members, attend events such as journey stories, art shows, and music events. Our venue is chosen for wedding showers, business meetings, and to host hospitality gatherings for out of town visitors such as Leadership Oklahoma,” .

“If you are a golfer, or know a golfer who would be available to play in the tournament, we ask that you go to our web site three valley museum.com for information on how to participate in this worthwhile event”, or call 580-920-8746, said Tyler.

You will also find an online “BALL DROP GAME”.  For only $10, you may purchase a chance to win $1,000.
